In 1988, CalTech started as a software development company in the garage of Bob Calabrese. When several of Calabrese’s employees left he sought out help to strengthen the CalTech brand. Enter Will Welch and Brent McCasland. Will and Brent, business graduates of Angelo State University, opened Outback Computer Service in 1995 with an investment of $600 and two credit cards! They brought along Outback Computer’s loyal customer base, strong financials, and the competitive advantage to give CalTech the boost it needed. The two companies merged in 1998, maintaining the CalTech Brand. In late 1998, Mr. Welch and Mr. McCasland assumed full ownership of the company.
Brent and Will started with the objective of supporting their families and it soon became clear that CalTech was blessed. With that goal accomplished, they felt compelled to expand CalTech to offer that same opportunity to others. Holding true to our mission statement, the goal has always been to provide a stable source of income and support to all CalTech employees and their families while providing exceptional value and service to our clients.

The CalTech staff have always gone above-and-beyond when it comes to customer service and field expertise. "Our" problems are treated like "their" problems and they stay at it until it's resolved or known avenues are exhausted. Then they go research for more solutions. CalTech consistently exceeds my expectations in response and service. Excellent communications keeps me informed of status and resolution even when I am away.
The representatives from CalTech are helpful and communicate to us without using "tech speak", which is a plus being on this side of the phone conversation. They resolve my issues in a relatively short time!
CalTech is a great organization, as a whole. I really appreciate their prompt and "can do" attitude. Most importantly, I appreciate how they invest in their employees and their community. CalTech sets the bar very high on not only how an IT support provider should care for a customer, but for its employees and community. Keep up the great work!
Recently we had an unexpected DR event that would have kept us from being fully functional for several days, but with the help of CalTech, we were able to recover in a short amount of time. We were planning a hypothetical DR test before year end and instead we had a real situation to deal with and our solution worked. I feel really good about CalTech being our partner for these critical areas.
